Our neighbor Gymnasium participates in a three years European project funded by EuropAid which includes 12 countries from Europe and 2 from Africa. It involves activities for the cultivation of organic food and preservation of the environment. They organized a presentation of the program with a bazaar of healthy snacks and our sixth graders were invited. They bought healthy organic snacks, heard traditional music and watch a traditional theater play with paper puppets called Karagiozis (Shadow Theater).
Poland and Germany connected through Skype and had a videoconference on 10th March. It was a great experience for students. They were talking, asking questions they had fun. The students liked it very much and they are waiting for more!
My dear partners, today a presentation of our project has been uploaded on an educational webpage which is quite popular among teachers and public in Cyprus. This is a way to spread the news about our work and share it with other educators and the community. Unfortunately it is in Greek, but still iit is a publication of our project.
I remembered that this time last year I was enjoying the snow in Finland. And since we had a heavy winter with rain and snow this year we hit the mountains. We took our fifth graders for a skiing lesson on Troodos, our mountain. It was an amazing first skiing experience for our students. Tt was actually snowing the time we had our lesson. We had parents coming along who loved the experience as well. This is an activity we plan every year but unfortunately for the past two years we did not have any snow at all. So lucky us this year.
